Transgender brains are more like their desired gender from an early age

Summary:
Brain activity and structure in transgender adolescents more
closely resembles the typical activation patterns of their desired
gender, according to new research. The findings suggest that differences
in brain function may occur early in development and that brain imaging
may be a useful tool for earlier identification of transgenderism in
young people.

Brain activity and structure in transgender adolescents more closely
resembles the typical activation patterns of their desired gender,
according to findings to be presented in Barcelona, at the European
Society of Endocrinology annual meeting, ECE 2018. These findings
suggest that differences in brain function may occur early in
development and that brain imaging may be a useful tool for earlier
identification of transgenderism in young people.

Transgenderism is the experience, or identification with, a gender
different to the assigned biological sex, whilst gender dysphoria (GD)
is the distress experienced by transgender people, and may be present
from a very young age. Although GD incidence is rare, gender identity is
an essential part of psychological health, and if unaddressed can lead
to serious psychological issues. Current strategies for addressing GD in
younger people involve psychotherapy, or delaying puberty with hormones,
so that decisions on transgender therapy can be made at an older age.
Genetics and hormones contribute to sex differences in brain development
and function that lead to more male- or female-typical characteristics;
however, these processes are not well established. Furthermore, little
is known on how early in life, or to what extent, the gender-typical
characteristics of transgender people become established. Earlier
diagnosis or better understanding of transgenderism could help to
improve quality of life for young transgender people, and help families
to make more informed decisions on treatment.

In this study, Dr. Julie Bakker from the University of Liège, Belgium,
and her colleagues from the Center of Expertise on Gender Dysphoria at
the VU University Medical Center, the Netherlands, examined sex
differences in the brain activation patterns of young transgender
people. The study included both adolescent boys and girls with gender
dysphoria and used magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans to assess
brain activation patterns in response to a pheromone known to produce
gender-specific activity. The pattern of brain activation in both
transgender adolescent boys and girls more closely resembled that of
non-transgender boys and girls of their desired gender. In addition, GD
adolescent girls showed a male-typical brain activation pattern during a
visual/spatial memory exercise. Finally, some brain structural changes
were detected that were also more similar, but not identical, to those
typical of the desired gender of GD boys and girls.

Dr Bakker says, "Although more research is needed, we now have evidence
that sexual differentiation of the brain differs in young people with
GD, as they show functional brain characteristics that are typical of
their desired gender."

Dr Bakker's research will now investigate the role of hormones during
puberty on brain development and transgender differences, to help guide
and improve future diagnosis and therapy for GD adolescents.

Dr Bakker comments, "We will then be better equipped to support these
young people, instead of just sending them to a psychiatrist and hoping
that their distress will disappear spontaneously."

Thi
is silly these scientists just wants funding. Please fire thes
people. Outside somebody is starving and they are inside warm with A
playing musical chairs.

Teenager/Young adult is coming of age and wants to belong. I mean we
all go through this. Wow they are a young adult and a man wants to be
a man and woman wants to be a woman.

Scientist claiming "Young Adult has a better idea of what gender
they are, especially if they have been raised transgendered ? I mean
seriously have they not seen "Sleepaway Camp 1-4"

I am going to be honest. Everything is grooming, everything is molding
people to go towards a specific direction.
I am straight because I saw my father and mother kiss, hug, and touch
each other. I mimicked the behavior. Not because of media. Because we
knew it from when we were little children, Being in the household
seeing our parents
together or hearing them in the walls.

If you do not for or allow yourself to be open to another then you
will never get anything normal from life. You have to take risks and
chance to get anything done in this world, even if you look like the
"bad person".

I hate all of this marketing against heterosexuals behavior. I hate
how selfish this world when it should be filled with bright joy. This
is not love nore it is science. It is discrimination against the
opposite sex from meeting.

In German the word Robot translate as "forced labor" and in
China they call it population control.

People have the ability to do many things
From when boys plays with cars and girls plays with dolls. Meanin
boys are on horses while girls are nursing babies. That is normal.

We are wasting money on any LGBT related thing. When a twelve-year
young man who should be "getting his head wet" with whatever
tail he gets with. He instead is brainwashed into having his penis
removed and taking pills to grow breast. I am not kidding you nobody,
not a pre-teen, young-adult, or anybody should be having operations,
because they "feel" like if they are another gender. That is
money being burnt, on surgery and medical that could be used for other
purposes. Like giving plastic-surgery, and fat-removal from peoples
bodies.

LGBT rights in a nutshell is "Do not attack us and allow us to
gain income". That is it. They have that and more already. My
boss ( logic ) is a homosexual. My doctors are homosexuals. Even some
of my grade-school, and college teachers and staff are LGBT. Nobody
cares ( at least my generation ) and to see twenty year olds today
not really understanding any of these simple ideas and being caught up
with the distractions of the world is horrible enough.

We need to stop looking at Rape, Abortion, LGBT, or any minority
problems. Actually start looking at men, old and young. I literally
saw an elderly woman at a job-fare. She literally looks like she was
going to and sound like passing out. Yet nobody cares. She need to be
inside an home. not looking for a blasted job. Since 2001 happen
everything has been downhill if not, then second wave feminism. I
praise the sexual-revolution but denounce the sad flat fact that men (
no matter what age ) are being ignored, left out, like useless. You
have fifty year old women with certificates getting jobs that most
college students struggle to get their bachelors, or masters. That is
insane.

We save the men ( boys no matter what age, race, religion, culture ) ,
we save the world. The old way of thinking is killing our world. We
need our boys, our men at the fore-front. Not lesbians and guys who
had there penises removed, or honestly believes they have anything to
do with womens right outside of being a walking debit card and human
vibrator.

Cowardness and racism is what holding everybody back in this world if
anything is wrong. The nuclear-family has been shredded to pieces.
Nobody is waking up to see the lack of attention our men ( boys as
well ) are getting this world. Nope, lets focus on "her" or
"lets focus on making "him into a her" .
